Our Team

Deborah Decker Magers MS CCC-SLP

CEO

Deb has been a Speech-Language Pathologist specializing in pediatrics for over thirty-five years. She initially became interested in the field of speech and language after one of her nephews was born with a cleft lip and palate. Subsequently, she completed her B.A. in Communication Disorders and Sciences at SUNY at Buffalo and her M.S. in Speech Pathology and Audiology at the University of South Florida in Tampa.

Deb has worked in a variety of educational and medical settings, both pediatric and adult, and worked as a traveling Speech-Language Pathologist for four years in the early 1990s. After settling back in Tampa, she worked at a local private practice and a not-for profit agency before making the decision to venture out on her own in 2010. Over the past eleven years, the practice has continued to grow from a solo practice to a thriving multidisciplinary (ST, OT and ABA) practice with two office locations in the Tampa Bay area. 

Deb enjoys spending time with her husband, Stephen, dog, Rocket and their many family members and friends. Her interests include watching Jeopardy, Hallmark movies, riding her bike and traveling!

Carolyn Larson

Business Office Director

Carolyn was born in Nairobi Kenya to English parents. She spent her childhood traveling with her parents due to her father's work in communications. After attending boarding school and graduating from high school in England, she moved to the U.S. to Virginia where her parents had settled. She met and married her husband of 31 years, Todd, while in Virginia then moved to Florida with her husband's job in 1996. They have raised their two children in the Tampa area, and they live close to their extended families.

Carolyn has extensive experience as a Program Coordinator of Clinical Services, working with providers of home-based Early Intervention services and multi-disciplinary Therapy Programs. She joined DTS in Sept 2014 and has been instrumental in the growth of the company.

Carolyn lives in Wesley Chapel with husband, their dog, and her two adult children live nearby. She enjoys having lots of family close by, spending time with them, and game nights. Carolyn likes to keep active and is an avid Peloton rider. She especially loves her role as Grandma!

Liz Carrier-Dzwonek MA CCC-SLP

Clinical Director

Speech/Language Pathologist

Liz was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Speech Language Pathology from Eastern Michigan University and completed her clinical training in the Metro Detroit area. Liz and her husband relocated to Florida in 2011. She has worked in a wide variety of settings including schools, hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, home health, and outpatient clinics. Her areas of clinical expertise include post-Stroke rehabilitation, using computer-aided technology for communication, and working with individuals on the Autism Spectrum. Liz enjoys cooking, traveling, volunteering at her son’s school, and spending time with her family and dog.

Amy Graham MS BCBA

Board Certified Behavior Analyst

Amy joins us in the S. Tampa office and is working hard to get our ABA program up and running! She has relocated to the Tampa Bay area from the great state of Wisconsin (Go Pack Go!). Amy earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Human Services from the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point and has a M.S from Kaplan University in General Psychology and Applied Behavior Analysis. She brings a positive attitude and strong work ethic to our practice. She has over ten years’ experience with children and families utilizing principles of applied behavior analysis, in home and center-based environments. Amy is very passionate about supporting children and families in developing healthy relationships.

Maegan Kirst OTR/L

Occupational Therapist

Maegan joins us at the S. Tampa and Brandon offices and is excited to provide OT services for our clients. Before starting with Decker Therapy Services, Maegan was providing OT to children in a variety of settings including home, school, and the community. Prior to becoming an OT, Maegan worked as a childcare provider and a special education teaching assistant. She earned her B.S. and M.O.T. from James Madison University, and is thrilled to bring her passion for children to our practice.

Cheyanne Hughes MS 

CCC-SLP

Speech/Language Pathologist

Cheyanne joins us at the S. Tampa and Brandon offices and is thrilled to help our practice continue to grow! Cheyanne has an M.S. in Speech Pathology from NYU. Cheyanne has a natural gift connecting with children and relating to them. She loves using a play-based and child-led therapy model to help her clients attain their goals.

​Rachael Nelson MA ​CCC-SLP​​

Speech/Language Pathologist​

Rachael joins us at the S. Tampa office and is excited to provide services to our clients. She has a background in pediatrics- Working both as an SLPA and an SLP. She also has awesome feeding experience! Rachel has an M.A. in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Central Florida (UCF Nation!). Rachel brings a fresh perspective and a wealth of knowledge to our practice.  

Mary Beth Young MA CCC-​SLP

Speech/Language Pathologist

Mary Beth is a pediatric speech language pathologist who grew up in Dunedin, Florida before moving to Los Angeles, California. Mary Beth earned her master's degree in communication disorders from California State University Los Angeles and has spent ten years working with children and their families in southern California before coming back home to the Tampa Bay area. In 2012, she was awarded a commendation for excellence for children with disabilities from the state of California. Mary Beth enjoys working with children of all ages and their families to build communication skills and confidence. Her experience includes working with children with varied communication needs in early intervention and preschool settings, children on the Autism Spectrum, children with complex communication needs, language disorders and phonological/speech sound disorders.

Stefanie Blythe DPT

Physical Therapist

Stefanie is our newest addition to the Tampa PPEC! Stefanie comes with some great pediatric experience and is a nice fit for the PPEC population! She is relatively new to Florida and just bought her first house in Palm Harbor with her husband.

Schyler Broome PT

Physical Therapist

Stacee Schyler Broome is a pediatric physical therapist. She earned her bachelors of exercise science from the University of Tampa and her masters in physical therapy from University of South Florida. She enjoys outdoor activities including hiking, biking and skiing with her husband and two boys.

Sarah Jewell M.S. CCC-SLP

Speech/Language Pathologist

Sarah completed both her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Speech Language Pathology at the University of South Florida. She has been serving pediatric clients in a variety of settings around the Tampa Bay area for 10 years including: home health, public and private schools, behavioral health settings and medical day care centers. Sarah is passionate about improving the lives of her clients and loves the role she plays in the process. She specializes in feeding, cognitive and language therapy in infants and preschool children who have medically fragile conditions. Sarah also thoroughly enjoys treating older children with Autism Spectrum Disorders, social-emotional/behavioral problems and speech/language disorders. In addition to her love for her profession, Sarah enjoys traveling, outdoor adventures, crafting jewelry and perfuming.
